attention from local bachelor Jim (Domhnall Gleeson). Faced with a fresh perspective and increasing pressure from those close to her, Eilis must decide where her future lies. Adapted by Nick Hornby from Colm Tóibín’s novel, and directed by John Crowley (Intermission), Brooklyn is an exquisitely realised story about family, memories and home. Ronan shines as Eilis in her most mature performance to date, assisted by an excellent supporting cast, which includes Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent.
