Birr Theatre & Arts Centre is delighted to present another series of talks on contemporary art This series looks at the art of film, food and still life and includes a field trip to Temple Bar Gallery and Studios, Dublin.

16th Sept - The Art of Film Talk 1 - Examining films such as The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover 1989, Babette’s Feast 1987 Explore food production, consumption and presentation as vivid storytelling motifs

23rd Sept -The Art of Food Talk 2 - Food art and greed Is food art, to deliberate the presence of food in visual and performing arts

30th Sept -The Art of Still Life Talk 3 -Still lifes from the seventeenth century to today, contemporary photography, bold video works, and dramatic large-scale installations

Sat Oct 4th - Field Trip: Temple Bar Gallery + Studios is a contemporary art gallery and artists' studios complex.
