The Hodson Mile Lake Swim

Take part in the Hodson Mile Lake Swim - run from the spectacular grounds of the Hodson Bay Hotel on the tranquil shore of Lough Ree on the mighty Shannon.

Now proudly part of the Global Swim Series, participants can now see where they position against swimmers and events from all across the world!

Standing proud on a tiny island offshore and within view of every swimmer as you complete your mile challenge is the 'Hodson Pillar' the legendary centre of Ireland. Like several other Irish loughs, Lough Ree has been the scene of many sightings of lake monsters so be warned!
Whether you choose the 750m course or the Hodson Mile challenge (or both!) this is an event which will live on in your own story telling, with either a possible sighting of a winged lake serpent or, more importantly, completing your swim goal for 2016.

Registration is now open so take advantage of early bird deals.

That Beats Banagher Festival 2019
That Beats Banagher festival takes place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st of July. It is an annual festival focused around the river Shannon and the rich history of the town of Banagher. Each year the festival includes events of historical and cultural significance, workshops and demonstrations, and leisure events on the Shannon.
