My wife Jane & I moved from Dublin to the Midlands in the early 90’s and created the Wineport Lodge, on the lakeshore close to Glasson.
Initially we were seduced by the beauty of the area, but didn’t know where the customers would come from.
Glasson Golf Club opened up in the same year and from day one we’ve never looked back.
Now we’re famous for being the home of RTE’s favourite cookery show The Restaurant. We have continued to grow the business organically, as demand has grown, and we have been joined by many other entrepreneurs who have set up successful hospitality businesses in the area.
We’re very happy here, the Midlands is a great place to live, work and visit and the connectivity from the road and rail infrastructure makes it easy for visitors to find us. It just gets better!
