Longford Expo, Longford Town, May 25th-26th, 2012
Longford Chamber of Commerce in association with Longford Business Forum and Longford County Enterprise Board will be holding a Business Expo for Longford owned businesses in the vacant shopping centre in Longford Town on May 25th and 26th 2012.
100 local businesses will exhibit at the Expo. We believe the Expo will showcase the range and breadth of Longford owned businesses and provide a valuable opportunity to highlight locally provided services and products.
The Expo will provide valuable networking opportunities for the exhibitors involved, creating increased opportunities for mutual trade. The expo will be marketed widely and larger companies in the region will be invited directly.
We are going to invite locals who have excelled in business outside of Longford and essentially we will be trying to encourage people with Longford connections to consider Longford as a location to source products and services. For the exhibitor this will be a great opportunity to make connections with potential customers outside their current circle of customers and develop new revenue channels.
We anticipate that many locals will visit the Expo, many curious to see the building where it is being housed.
The Expo will also host a morning seminar, which we hope will attract national publicity. The theme of the seminar will be based around urban regeneration post celtic tiger or more specifically how a Town like Longford can find viable usages and potential investors for vacant centres such as the shopping centre where the Expo will be located. The main seminar will be held on Friday morning 25th, and open to exhibitors and invited guests.
The Expo will open to the public from lunchtime on Friday.

Ballinalee Connemara Pony Show 2012, Ballinalee, County Longford, 10 June 2012
Ballinalee Connemara Pony Show is an annual event and the second largest of its kind in the country. The show completely transforms this rural and historical village and provides a thoroughly enjoyable day out for all the family. All the ponies featured are registered Connemara Ponies, known for their athleticism and great dispositions. They are gentle creatures and particularly good with children.
Visitors to the show get the chance to see them take part in in-hand and performance classes and if you're lucky enough to own one of these beautiful animals there are plenty of opportunities to meet other owners and breeders to swop notes and tips. There's also an excellent dog show on the day and a fun parade to keep everyone in high spirits.
