Mullingar Agricultural Show celebrates the best in farming, rural interests & country living and attracts entries from across Ireland.
The traditional Agricultural strengths of Westmeath are reflected in the variety of events and classes at the show which include Pedigree & Commercial cattle; sheep showing; sheep shearing competitions; the popular Horse & Pony showing; the newly introduced Special Needs Classes; show-jumping; poultry; horticulture; cookery; arts; crafts; photography; dog show; large area of indoor & outdoor stands; food village and various displays and demonstrations throughout the day.
With all this and more, a fantastic day's entertainment for all the family is guaranteed. The 2012 show beings at 10am.

Race of the South Walderstown, Athlone, County Westmeath, 14-15th July 2012
The Race of the South Walderstown Athlone is a round of the Irish National Road Race Championship with all the top competitors from the 32 counties of Ireland, as well as England, Wales and the Isle of Man.
Prepare for speeds of up to 200mph! The event is promoted by Fore Motor Cycle Ltd. Roads close on Saturday at 12.30pm for practice & Sunday at 11am, with the first race at 11.15am.

Hilltown New Music Festival, Hilltown House, Castlepollard, County Westmeath, 20-22 July 2012
Now in its fifth edition, the Hilltown New Music Festival includes an exciting line-up of Irish and international artists awaiting lovers of contemporary chamber music.A series of concerts takes place over the weekend festival, alongside sonic and audio-visual art installations involving artists from Ireland, France, Germany, the UK, and elsewhere. Friday's opening night will be an unusual and special combination of the auditory and the culinary with a pre-concert tasting plate prepared by the Westmeath Convivium of Slow Food Ireland.
Hilltown House is less than 2 hours drive from Dublin and well signposted from Oldcastle and Castlepollard. Guesthouse accommodation and camping available nearby. Bring along a picnic or sample the homemade delights of the local café which will set up shop on the grounds. Parking available.
