Representing Athlone, Tullamore and Mullingar as a single entity, the Midlands Gateway Chamber was formed in 2007 by forward thinking members of the town Chambers who recognised the need for one regional voice representing the midlands. “Our vision is to create a business community that is engaged in building a better future for the Midlands Region”, Paul O’ Reilly President of the Midlands Gateway Chamber. To that end our aim is identify and support projects and issues, communicate information and create opportunities to promote business growth for the entire region that represents Athlone, Mullingar and Tullamore”.

The Midlands Gateway Chamber was given its mandate by the three Town Chambers of Athlone, Mullingar and Tullamore in 2007. It brings together the strengths of these 3 growing urban centres to form a combined force called the Midlands Linked Gateway. The Midlands Gateway Chamber represents over 700 businesses in the region – comprising local, national and international businesses.

The Midlands Gateway Chamber serves as the lobby group for critical issues affecting businesses in the Midlands that need to be recognised and supported by regional and national bodies in order to enhance business growth in the Midlands Region. The Midlands Gateway Chamber supports the promotion of the region as a competitive and attractive option for business and population growth in association with public bodies and private business, driving further investment in Infrastructure, Enterprise and Quality of Life projects so that we can secure our position as an attractive location in which to invest and live. The Midlands Gateway Chamber provides relevant timely business information on the Midlands Region to the business community and invite participation and engagement as well as creating opportunities for business networking, ideas sharing and celebration in the Midlands.

The board of the Midlands Gateway Chamber comprises of regional business professionals from both the public and private sectors as well as representatives from the local town chambers in Athlone, Tullamore and Mullingar.
