Offaly County Council announces details of its Arts Grants for 2012

This year Offaly County Council is delighted to advise that eligibility under the Arts Act Grants, which is a legislative function of the council, has been expanded to accommodate more groups. The Arts Act Grants will provide an opportunity for community groups, artists, drama groups, bands and choirs to seek support through the Arts Act Grant Scheme.

Ruhama is a voluntary organisation, working with women affected by prostitution and other forms of commercial sexual exploitation. Ruhama is Hebrew for “renewed life now.

The Arthouse, Stradbally Presents Wind Swept Trees’ by Emma Barone

If you do one thing this week, go see  ‘Wind Swept Trees’ by  Emma Barone, at the Arthouse, Stradbally, Co Laois.

An exhibition entitled “Wind Swept Trees” by artist Emma Barone, opened at the Arthouse & Library, Stradbally, Co Laois, on Tuesday 7th February.  It is on view until Friday 24th February, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday’s  from 2.00pm-4.00pm or by appointment. The exhibition was launched by Artist-in-Residence Vera McEvoy.  Vera Mc Evoy is the NCAD graduate artist who was awarded the first Laois County Council/NCAD  bursary to work at the Arthouse Stradbally.
