Built Heritage Jobs Leverage Scheme 2014 - Offaly

Published: 9th January 2014

Applications are now being invited for the Built Heritage Jobs Leverage Scheme 2014 Conservation Grant Scheme for 2014 which is operated by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and administered by Offaly County Council.

This scheme is being developed to assist with the repair and conservation of structures that are protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).

The significant difference between this scheme and previous built heritage programmes is that the focus and priority of this scheme will be job creation. As a result, Offaly County Council will be required to report to the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht on the number of jobs created under this scheme.
The scheme seeks to leverage private capital for investment in a significant number of labour-intensive, small scale conservation projects across the country and to support the employment of skilled and experienced conservation professionals, craftspeople and tradespersons in the repair of the historic built environment.

The minimum level of funding awarded will be €2,500 up to a maximum of €15,000. Priority will be given to small-scale, labour intensive projects. Matching funding of 50% will be required for each project from the private sector.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Thursday, 15 February 2014 at 3.00pm. For application form and further information please contact Ms. Edel Boyd, Offaly County Council.
