The Midland Regional Authority as part of the MidlandsIreland.ie branding initiative in association with Athlone Institute of Technology and Enterprise Ireland will host an early morning briefing entitled "Discover what the Midlands Region has to offer Your Business ". This event is targeted at business of all sizes, in the fields of environment, food, human health, animal health, nutrition, and cosmetics.
On Thursday morning, February 21st commencing at 8am, attendees over a two hour period will be introduced to the R&D facilities on the campus and hear about Enterprise Ireland’s Innovation Voucher Scheme. So whether you are part of an established business or have an idea, then this event is one not to be missed.
The event will be complemented by an adjoining Expo where you can learn about regional supports offered to business including Chambers, County Enterprise Boards and Partnership Companies.

The Midland Regional Authority promotes the co-ordination of the provision of public services at regional level. The Midland Regional Authority manages the MidlandsIreland.ie brand which is promoted through a dedicated website, facebook, twitter, and through organisations such as, Chambers of Commerce, Business Forums, Local Authorities and local businesses. AIT’s strategic research institutes, Contract Analytical Services (CAS), MRI, Applied Polymer Technologies Ireland (APT Ireland), Bioscience Research Institute (BRI), SRI and COMAND (Connected Media Application Design and Delivery, have developed international collaborations with leading multinational companies and universities in Europe, Asia and the US, along with supporting indigenous industry.
Midlands Innovation and Research Centre (MIRC) provides incubation facilities, an enterprise programme, resources and expertise for innovative and knowledge-based enterprise. The New Frontiers entrepreneur development programme, funded by Enterprise Ireland, is delivered in the Midlands Mid-East region by the MIRC in partnership with NUI Maynooth.

The objective of the Innovation Voucher initiative is to build links between Ireland's public knowledge providers and small businesses and create a cultural shift in the small business community's approach to innovation. The Innovation Voucher Initiative is now running in Northern Ireland also, which means that voucher holders access to an additional 10 Knowledge Providers in Northern Ireland.
