Gas pipeline route residents urged to register interest now

People living along the gas pipeline route between Athlone and Ballymahon are being urged to register their interest in having their residence connected with Gas Networks Ireland.

Representatives from the company are currently calling to homes in Baylinn, Walderstown and Tang through to Rathmore in Longford, ahead of the start of construction in June.

In a presentation to councillors in Athlone this week, Gas Networks Ireland confirmed that four to five crews will lay pipes in differnent areas along the route silmountanously in order to complete the project this October as required by Center Parcs.

Daniel Goulding of Gas Networks Ireland says it’s important that homeowners register their interest with the company now, ahead of construction, as there will be a significant costs to connect to the pipeline afterwards.
