Launch of Longford Walking Festival & Marketing Plan 2014

County Longford Tourism Committee is holding its A.G.M. in Newcastle House, Ballymahon on Thursday 20th March 2014 at 11am. The AGM is open to the public and all interested parties are invited.
The A.G.M. will be followed by the launch of both a new tourism brochure for County Longford and the upgraded website www.longfordtourism.ie.
Plans will also be announced for Longford’s first walking festival to be held over the May Bank Holiday weekend and Donal MacAnBheatha, senior planner with Longford County Council will give a short presentation on the potential to develop a significant wetlands park in the County over the next number of years.
Refreshments will be served after the event and attendees are encouraged to take a guided tour of Newcastle House as well as a walk in nearby Newcastle Woods, one of the venues for the 2014 walking Festival.
The Tourism committee is a voluntary committee comprised of members interested in seeing the county fulfill its tourism potential. Anyone interested in joining the committee or helping out with various initiatives should contact Anna Delaney in the Tourism Office on the Market Square.
