Shane Lowry confirmed at the weekend that he will be attending Offaly Sports Partnership’s Sports Awards of the Decade on Saturday, 3rd December in the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore.
Lowry is among 52 sports people from the county who have been shortlisted for awards. Last weekend the adjudication panel announced that Lowry will be the recipient of the Offaly Sports Achiever of the Decade.
Three volunteers will also be honoured on the night for their personal commitment. Ann Marie Guinean of Drumcullen Camogie Club will receive the Youth Volunteer of the Decade Award. Liam “Morley” Brereton of St. Bridget’s Boxing Club in Edenderry will receive the Volunteer of the Decade Award while John Cronin of Tullamore Harriers will be acknowledged for a lifetime’s contribution to sport.
Tickets for the gala function on December 3rd can be purchased from Offaly Sports Partnership and cost €30 each. This includes a drinks reception, a 4 course meal, live music and dancing and the chance to mix with over 50 sportspeople from the county who made their mark in the past 10 years and earlier.
