'Postcards from the Centre', small interactions in a big way...
Published: 23rd October 2014
From the 3rd November Offaly’s arts in health group Anam Beo will showcase a large art work at Aras an Chontae in Tullamore, made by users of health care settings around Offaly.
This collage of 300 postcards is not a finished work though, as members of the community are invited to also add to it during the exhibition.
Groups and individuals are invited to come to Aras an Chontae on Nov 7th and 14th to add their creation to the exhibition, and all materials will be provided on the day. This is an artwork which will evolve during the first weeks in November and all are welcome to be part of this community exhibition.
The final artwork can be viewed at the closing reception a few weeks on Nov 21st later where people can take home their postcards.
Also featuring at this exhibition is a wonderful animated DVD about Bipolar created by Rowena Keaveny. This will be on display alongside information about the project itself. This DVD was aided by the Community Foundation for Ireland and the Attic Centre.
Also this year the exhibition includes new participants artwork from Carthage House, Mucklagh and large artwork by the Irish Wheelchair Association, Ballinagar.
This programme has been enabled by Offaly County Council, the Dublin Mid Leinster HSE, Anam Beo and a large thank you to all the staff and participants at the centres involved.
