Known as “Lord Haw-Haw” during his infamous wartime broadcasts from Nazi Germany, Joyce grew up in Galway, the son of a Mayo father and a Lancashire mother with Ulster roots. As he awaits his execution in Wandsworth Prison, his memories return to his childhood home and his last thoughts are of looking towards the Atlantic from Salthill. The reading will be followed by a Q&A session with Mary Kenny.
