Festival of friendship, the HOWYA festival includes the All-Ireland's Scarecrow competition for the delight of young and old alike. Friendship is very important these days and a simple Howya and a handshake is a sign of happiness. The small community of Durrow gets together every summer to celebrate this and puts all their energy to welcome visitors. The All-Ireland's Scarecrow competition is running for the second year. Bring your own scarecrow or just come in for a stroll through the town. You will get surprised by the scarecrows found in unexpected places...You will fall under the charm of the village coming to life during the week. Family day on the Green, concerts, races, a lot to do for everyone who wants to celebrate friendship. Last year scarecrows came from Donegal and Tipperary, where will yours come from?
