Just Transition Fund & the EU Start Engagement Process

The Midlands Regional Transition Team (MRTT) is collating proposals for projects which can assist a positive transition from peat harvesting and power generation in affected communities and related groups in the wider Midland Region.

This Engagement Document  provides guidance on which organisations can make proposals.

In these materials you will find ideas and insights on potential types of projects and activities which could help create a more positive future for communities affected by peat phase out. There is also an explanation of the MRTT submission process and how project proposals will be assessed.

Please note that registering projects through this Engagement Process, is the first stage in applying for funds from the Just Transition Fund.

Project proposal forms for completion are available below.

Completed forms should be submitted by Friday 12th June by email to JustTransition@mrtt.ie, following the guidance provided. 

If you have questions about the process, please send them to JustTransition@mrtt.ie by Tuesday, June 2nd. A collated set of questions and answers will be subsequently published on the www.midlandsireland.ie website.
 

Stage 2 - Just Transition Fund Now Open
DCCAE has this afternoon released details of Stage 2 of the Just Transition Fund. Projects must have registered with the Midlands Regional Transition Team-START Midlands Engagement Process to be eligible
