Now in its’ 7th year the ‘Hullabaloo! Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival’ has become an eagerly awaited event marked on kids and parents calendar’s in Offaly. The Festival takes place during the October mid-term break and is a guaranteed great selection of family orientated creative workshops, shows and activities.
The brilliant news this year is that the Festival is not only being held in Birr and Clara but it is also coming to Edenderry. So kids get ready to ‘Dust Off Your Skeletons’ and dance, ‘Make a Mini-Theatre’ for your own mini drama, create a ‘Dangly Giraffe’ or ‘Scary Cartoon Beast’, learn to be a Human Beatbox, have a go at playing in an orchestra, watch a films, go on a spooky ghost walk or get the whole family to come and see some great shows from puppets to juggling to the art of science.
Hullabaloo! Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival is organised by Offaly County Council Arts Office together with Birr Theatre and Arts Centre, Clara Resource Centre, Public Access Arts Edenderry and Offaly Library Services. The Festival’s aim is to give children aged from 3- 12 their own access to culture and arts experiences and to encourage children to use their imagination, discover new talents and be inspired by performances.
Emma Nee Haslam, Venue Manager at Birr Theatre & Arts Centre said “we’re very excited about this year’s programme which has a huge range of activities and live family performances. Since establishing in 2007 it has always been the intention that this be a county-wide event. This year sees Edenderry coming on board which is very exciting and we look forward to more towns coming on board in the future”.
