The Race of the South Walderstown Athlone is a round of the Irish National Motorcycle Road Races with competitors from England, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Italy, France and Northern and Southern Ireland.
There are ten rounds in total, with five rounds taking place in Northern Ireland and five in Southern Ireland. All top competitors in motorcycling will take part, including the Dunlop Brothers (sons of the late Robert and nephews of the late Joey). It is an 11 race programme with machines from 125cc to 1010cc taking part and attracts crowds of approximately 10,000 spectators.
Note that roads close around the race area on Saturday at 12.30pm and on Sunday at 11am.
