Student Ceramic Exhibition at Aras an Chontae
Tullamore College Transition Year students are hosting a ceramic exhibition entitled "Tea Y Pots" at Aras an Chontae
Aras an Chontae
15th May at 9:00 am to 29th May 2015 at 4:00 pm
The exhibition consists of 24 unique and original teapots that were designed and made by the students as part of their Transition Year art module. Through the Creative Engagement programme, students had a fantastic opportunity to work with the Glasgow sculptor Stephen Winstanley to assist with their concept and skills in creating this distinctive collection of tea pots.
Tea-Y pots will open on Friday 15th May at 7pm in Aras an Chontae, Tullamore. All are welcome to attend.
The Offaly School of Special Education will also showcase “Collaborations in Clay”, which is work their students made through the CRAFTed programme of the Crafts Council, with ceramicist Maeve Sookram organised by teacher Agnes Seale. The children’s complex needs mean they all learn and communicate in different ways and the project was used to stimulate their concentration and to enhance their understanding through seeing, touching and interacting with clay.
Collaboration in Clay will be launched on Friday 15th May at 11.30am by Cllr. Martin O’Reilly in Aras an Chontae, Tullamore. All are welcome to attend.
Both exhibitions will continue until May 29th, open Mon – Fri 9am to 4pm
This new and exciting traineeship, developed in association with Grow Remote, aims to prepare learners to work remotely – whether that be from home or from a Digital Hub. Starting on Monday January 13th
Time: 13th January to 24th July 2020
