A Project in Two Parts Exhibition

Published: 30th November -0001

An exhibition entitled “A Project in Two Parts”, by Martina O’Brien opened on Friday 11th January at the Arthouse, Stradbally. The exhibition was officially launched by Michelle De Forge, the new manager at the Dunamaise Arts Centre. Michelle was glowing in her praise of the artwork on display and welcomed the opportunity to launch the exhibition at the Arthouse Stradbally.

The Cathaoirleach of Laois County Council Paul Mitchell was also in attendance and spoke in praise of the exhibition of work by Martina.

A project in two parts is a series of paintings, mosaics and etching which investigate the changed environment/landscape surrounding the banks of the River Dodder in the aftermath of the recent Dublin floods. On the 24th of October 2011 the river bust its banks causing the encompassing environment to be dramatically altered.

This very vivid and colourful exhibition is well worth a visit to the Arthouse and will be on view until Friday 8th February. The Arthouse is open to the public Tuesday –Friday, 10-4pm, or by appointment.
