Bealtaine Festival 2014 at Offaly Libraries – Something for Everyone

Published: 1st May 2014

The Bealtaine Festival runs nationally for the month of May and celebrates creativity in older age. The theme of Bealtaine 2014 in Offaly Libraries is Tasters and we have taster sessions and opportunities for the over 55s to try out something new throughout the branches in our network.

Taster Sessions be taking place in most of our branches and will cover a varied array of topics including Knitting & Crochet, Photography, Digital Photography, Creative Writing, Tai Chi & Meditation, Introduction to Art, Introduction to Theatre & Drama, Pilates Demonstrations & Talks, Conversational Spanish for Holidays, Computer Test Drive, Poetry. There will also be Table Quizes, Music, Movies and more. Many of these events are possible due to the generosity of local individuals and groups who are giving their time and skills to make this programme of events possible. As in previous years, all of our branches will be offering Free Internet Access to all library members over the age of 55 during Bealtaine.

The official Offaly Libraries - Bealtaine Brochure was launched in Tullamore Central Library on Tuesday, April 29th. It contains details of all the events taking place throughout the library network for Bealtaine as well as contact details for each branch holding events. The brochure is available from your local branch library or by visiting our website at www.offaly.ie/libraries.
