Funding of almost €3 million granted for Longford Town Regeneration Plan

It’s been confirmed today that Longford council is to get almost €3 million euro in total to help with the regeneration of the town.

Funding of €1 million euro was committed to the regeneration in November of last year, but it’s now been agreed that the local authority will be able to draw down another €1.9 million for its projects around the town.
These include a regeneration of the Market Square area, a redesign of the Grafton Court/Tesco Carpark area, and the development of a link road from Richmond Street to Little Water Street.
Longford council will also be putting a million euro towards the projects bringing the total investment to €4 million.
