Heritage Project Funding

Two grant schemes for heritage projects have been announced by the Department for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. Details are below and application forms are available either from me or directly from the Department contacts listed.

Biodiversity Awareness Fund, deadline June 28th.

According to the Dept: “The scheme is aimed at small scale projects not exceeding €5,000. Projects, where projected costs are higher, will be considered on merit.”

Completed applications should be submitted by email to biodiversitypolicy@ahg.gov.ie or by post to Environment Fund Grant Scheme 2013, Biodiversity Policy Unit, National Parks & Wildlife Service, Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, 7 Ely Place, Dublin 2. The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 28 June 2013. Any queries regarding this scheme should be emailed to biodiversitypolicy@ahg.gov.ie.

Applications for funding to support Actions of the Government Policy on Architecture 2009-2015, deadline June 3rd

Mr Jimmy Deenihan, TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht invites applications from bodies, such as charities, academic institutions, local authorities, professional organisations and others, for funding for good quality projects which will support and complement the Actions of the Government Policy on Architecture 2009-2015. Any funding made available for such projects will be provided in accordance with the guidelines outlined below.

The overall level of funding available for eligible projects in 2013 is less than €100,000 in total. For projects which will not be fully completed in 2013, applications for a discrete portion (to be completed in 2013) of a project will be considered. Depending on the level of funding available, applications for funding may also be invited in 2014.

Financial assistance from the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht may not exceed 80 % of the estimated overall cost of delivering a project. The unfunded element may include personnel time invested and/or other financial resources.

The closing date for receipt of applications by the Department is 3pm on Monday, 3 June, 2013. Applications, including any supplementary material, will be accepted in softcopy format (ideally .pdf or .doc) by email to architecture@ahg.gov.ie .The email subject should be entitled ‘GPA Grant Aid 2013’ and include the project name. The size of the email should not exceed 15MB.
