Shine, A Solo Exhibition by Vera McEvoy @ The Arthouse Stradbally

Published: 8th January 2014

Shine, a multi media exhibition explores the transient movement of shadow, light and ephemeral silhouettes within a public space, capturing elements of recurring motion and quiescence in different contexts, portrayed in a way that is poetic, indirect and timeless.

This is the first time these works has been shown in their entirety, part of the work was unveiled and displayed in the attic room of King House, Boyle, Co Roscommon, during the Summer Programme 2013. McEvoy developed the work in response to her time spent in King House during the Art@Work artists’ residency 2012.

Art@Work is a residential programme organised by Roscommon County Council Arts Office where artists spend three weeks in a workplace in County Roscommon making artworks motivated by the environment, staff, materials and working practices of the company. The Art@Work artists' residency programme is financed by Roscommon County Arts Office and The Arts Council of Ireland.
