Jack Sellers, the Vice Mayor of Chandler along with Teri Ferguson of Chandler Chamber of Commerce are to be special guests at the opening of the Tullamore Municipal District Garden of Remembrance in Tullamore Town Park, next Tuesday April 19th at 2.30pm.
Their visit coincides with the All Ireland US Sister City Summit which takes place later that week in Dublin. Tullamore has been twinned with Chandler in Arizona since 2009, which has lead to many positive business, community and cultural exchanges between both towns since.
The Chandler guests of honour will have a civic welcome on April 18th in Aras an Chontae and the following day, Tuesday 19th the Garden of Remembrance will be unveiled, which will be attended by a Defense Forces Flag Raising Party. Their visit to Offaly will include a number of business and tourist locations including Tullamore Dew, Birr Castle, Integra Life Sciences and the Sacred Heart School in Tullamore, who have visited Chandler on many occasions.
The Garden of Remembrance in Tullamore has seven oak trees planted in a semi circle to represent the seven signatories of the Proclamation and a plaque of the Proclamation. The opening of the Garden is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
