Walkabout Tullamore Central Libraries' Shelves & Screens - A Morning of Discovery

Published: 26th February 2013

On Friday morning, March 1st, Tullamore Central Library will be holding a special open morning of exploration and wandering, especially for grown-ups, around the new library as part of the Aontas Adult Learner's Festival.

The Festival runs nationally from February 25th to March 2nd and aims to showcase opportunities for adults to learn new skills and to discover, explore and celebrate learning.

A member of staff will be on hand to guide you through our services and highlight the facilities available for anyone who wants to learn something new or simply begin a new hobby! In addition to a wide range of books on topics such as languages, crafts, arts, business, literature, history, health, hobbies, science and literature as well as a wide selection of fiction, we also provide Internet and computer access, Web-based services and resources, meeting spaces, a Local History Department, daily and local newspapers, leaflets, DVDs, music CDs, e-books and audio-books! So whether you simply want to dip your toe into our crafts section or dive right into learning a new language, let us guide you through our maze of opportunities.

Individuals or groups are welcome any time between 10.00am and 1.00pm for as long or as short a stay as you like! We would ask that groups book in advance. Anyone seeking further details should contact Tullamore Central Library on 057 9346832. If you can't make it on Friday, don't forget that our library is open six days a week and we are always happy to welcome new users.
