Education in the Midlands is set to take centre stage as the region receives 12 nominations for the upcoming Education Awards 2026.
The event is one the most anticipated in the education sector, and education providers from across Ireland will come together to celebrate the most innovative individuals and companies driving excellence in Ireland’s education sector.
Leading the way in the Midlands is the Technological University of the Shannon TUS who are finalists in 11 awards on the night, showcasing a broad range of initiatives and successes at the university in everything from Digital Transformation to international engagement and best student experience. TUS are nominated the following categories:
- International Engagement Award
- Innovative Access to 3rd Level Education Award
- Best Student Experience (2 Nominations)
- Best Research Project
- Best Collaboration Award – Economic, Digital and Workforce Development
- Career Impact Strategy Award – Industry Engagement, Placements and Work-based Learning (2 Nominations)
- Excellence in Sustainability
- Most Innovative Digital Transformation
- Best Marketing and Communications Team
The Laois Offaly Education and Training Board LOETB are also finalists in the Awards, nominated for the following award:
- Best Workforce Upskilling Initiative
The high numbers of nominations for the Midlands is testament to the strong work of education providers across the region. The Midlands recently joined the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities in recognition of the innovative initiatives taking place in education and training right across the region.
Now in their 10th year, the winners will be announced at a gala event in the Johnstown Estate in Meath on the 16th of April
