Hamiltons of Geashill reopens!

Following the retirement of Jim and Catherine Hamilton, Hamiltons Pub has reopened under the new ownership of Paul Moriarty and Michael Comyn. Both well known figures in the world of broadcasting, they intend to honour the tradition of Hamiltons at the heart of Ireland’s Tidiest Village, Geashill. They say; “As the new custodians of Hamilton’s Pub in Geashill, we are dedicated to preserving the rich traditions that have made this establishment a beloved part of the community. We also recognise the importance of embracing sustainability and environmental responsibility to ensure a better future for future generations”.

Preserving the Hamiltons tradition

Hamilton’s Pub in Geashill has long been a cherished establishment in the heart of the community. Owned by Jim and Catherine Hamilton, the couple decided to retire last month after thirty years at their beloved establishement. So committed to the pub, Jim Hamilton retired 10 years later than he was supposed to. They even interviewed Paul and Michael on the premises before the handover.

Keeping it local

“Supporting local businesses has always been at the heart of our ethos”. Paul and Michael intend to source local ingredients and products from nearby suppliers, “we reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to the growth and prosperity of Geashill and its surroundings”. They will serve food from early next year and they are hoping to convert the three coach houses out the back of the premises into air bnbs or possible retreat spaces. Looking forward to paying them a visit, have a look at their brand new website.
