Midlands Companies for National Enterprise Awards, 2024

Four Midlands companies are going forward to the 2024 National Enterprise Awards, which takes place at the Mansion House in Dublin on May 23rd. 31 companies will be competing against eachother for a share of the €35,000 prize fund. The National Enterprise Awards are the highlight of the small business and enterprise calendar. Categories this year include; ‘Best Export Business’, ‘Best Start-Up’ and ‘Innovation’, along with ‘One to Watch’ and a ‘Sustainability/ Green’ award, in addition to eight regional awards.

Westmeath Local Enterprise Winner, 2024

Representing Westmeath are Watt Footprint from Mullingar. Watt Footprint offer a one-stop-shop approach to delivering energy savings, from initial energy audit and delivery of upgrades to the measurement and verification of the savings. They also have an in-house team of energy specialists including energy engineers, energy auditors, metering specialists, software/technology experts and project managers. They took home the prize of €5,000.

Longford Local Enterprise WInner, 2024

Congratualtions to Harp Media, the multi-discipline film production company who will represent Longford. Based in Longford, their successful debut feature film ‘Lakelands‘ was filmed on location in Granard, Co. Longford. It won Best Irish Film at Galway Film Fleadh and Kerry Film Festival and was acquired for UK and Ireland release by Wildcard Distribution.

Offaly Local Enterprise Winner, 2024

Rahan based IT Support Company ‘Network and Infrastructure’ (NIS Ltd) will represent Offaly. Established in 2001 by Gerry Buckley, NIS Ltd provides a complete IT support and IT services solution throughout Ireland. The company has grown from strength to strength and now employs eight full time staff.

Laois Local Enterprise Winner, 2024

Dúnmasc Genetics are the winners of the Local Enterprise Award in Laois. Located near the Rock of Dunamase, Dúnmasc Genetics stands as a premier provider of bovine genetics and fertility management services. Established approximately 10 years ago, they specialize in offering embryo transfer and training services for the agricultural and veterinary sectors. Operating from a state-of-the-art custom-built laboratory designed for both precise analysis and practical functionality, they hold the distinction of being the first company in Ireland to integrate embryo transfer and semen distribution.Dúnmasc Genetics caters to both the domestic market in Ireland and an expanding international clientele, which includes countries such as Holland, Italy, and China. At the helm of the company is Stephen Dowling, who serves as the Managing Director.
